Ajaya ‘s 2YO half-brother by Mastercraftsman carried the colours of breeders Blue Diamond Stud to a superb debut victory at Newbury on Friday.

The promising colt was saddled by Roger Charlton to have his first run in a mile maiden full of blue-blooded rivals.

Extra Elusive hit the front a furlong out, storming clear in an eye-catching manner to win by two and a quarter lengths.

“Extra Elusive has always been a nice horse, but is big, immature and babyish,” said Charlton. “The second horse is well bred and was well fancied and I like the way my horse came away – he won like a nice horse. He would get 2000m next year and could come back to Newbury for the conditions race in April.”
