Amadeus Wolf’s Sire, Mozart, passed away after only one year at stud, however, from that crop, he produced an incredible 57 Winners and 8 Stakes Winners. His first crop progeny earnings of almost $7.6m exceeded Redoute’s Choice’s tally of $7.2m. Mozart was the fastest son of Danehill, who was the best son of Danzig at Stud.
From Mozart’s first and only crop, Amadeus Wolf emerged as his very best.
As a two year old, Amadeus Wolf won both the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes and the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes.
At three, he won the Group 3 Duke of York Stakes and was multiple Group 1 placed. Achieving a Timeform rating of 122, he became the third highest ranked racehorse in Europe.
As a four year old, he won the Group 2 Duke of York Stakes, (also won by Invincible Spirit), defeating no less than four Group 1 Winners.
