Chatswood Stud was the proud host to almost 200 guests over the weekend during their annual stallion parade…
Chatswood is committed to providing the best credentialed stallions standing at realistic stud fees to enable breeders to make a good financial return and breed a winner. Reward For Effort’s fee remains unchanged after his first season that resulted in him being the most popular sire in Victoria and the second most popular first season…
It’s been an amazing twelve months for Chatswood, Greg and his team. In a tough economic climate Greg has managed to secure three top line stallions. By transferring Purrealist to Chatswood, the Makybe team and shareholders have further endorsed the re-emergence of Chatswood Stud as a leading Victorian stallion farm.
Chatswood Stud welcomes all clients and visitors to our property. If you’d like to inspect one of our stallions, your horses, or just see the 1000 acre property, you are certainly more than welcome to.
As you can imagine, Chatswood Stud is extremely busy throughout the year, especially during the breeding season, August-December, so an appointment is necessary.
Anacheeva isn’t the only new addition to the roster in 2012. Amir Khan will also be joining the team at Chatswood Stud as Stud Manager.
Amir spent time at both Emirates Park properties in a 15 year stint and has more recently spent 5 years at Darely Victoria.
Amir will be a invaluable asset to our operations in delivering the highest possible level of service to our horses and clients throughout the season.
While 150 mares is a great start for any stallion, it is the quality of these mares that will surely get his first 2YO crop off to a flyer. After all, his sire Exceed And Excel, grandsire Danehill, and broodmare sire Rory’s Jester were all Champion first Season Sires. In a season where mare numbers being bred fell across all levels, the 150 mares covered by Reward For Effort in 2011 has been a great achievement.
