Farrier and Equine Podiatry

Whoever coined the phrase, "No feet, no horse" would have been relieved to meet John. Chatswood is proud to continue its close association with John Pittard from Lynus Lodge - Victoria's first equine podiatry centre in Euroa. John has now been with Chatswood for over 6 years and personally handles and assesses each of Chatswood foals individually. Regular monitoring and reporting by an experienced farrier is an essential part of providing the necessary attention and service for your developing horse.

John has been a Master Farrier since 1966 and employs a team of six farriers with extensive experience on Studs and in racing stables.

John's expertise, especially with younger horses is widely recognised. Since working in Newmarket, U.K at the Equine Research Centre to pioneer new corrective and therapeutic shoeing techniques, John has returned to Australia and continued to work in conjunction with leading Veterinarians to develop effective trimming and shoeing programs for problem horses.

John works in close association with various veterinary practices including, the Avenel Equine Clinic, Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital, the Flemington Practice and the Seven Creeks Vet Practice.
