Chatswood Stud enjoyed a double success at Flemington’s Saturday meeting with Jabali Ridge and Amadeus taking out their respective assignments.

Jabali Ridge was a dominant victor in the $125k 2YO Handicap, with connections needing to weigh up if they want to pay the $55,000 late entry fee into next month’s $1.5 Million Blue Diamond. Replay

Jabali Ridge was prepared and offered by Chatswood at the 2019 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, failing to meet his reserve for breeder Jeremy Payne who has retained the gelding to race.

Capping a brilliant day was the win of the Chatswood born and raised Amadeus in the feature Chester Manifold Stakes for breeder/owner Joan Walker Replay. In 2003, Joan bred her mare Imprevu to Chatswood sire Dangerous, producing Jaywalk who then visited Chatswood shuttler Amadeus Wolf, in turn producing the Mick Kent trained Amadeus.

Joan has been a client of Chatswood for close to 30 years and will sell Amadeus’ half sister by Reward For Effort through Chatswood’s draft at the Inglis Melbourne Gold Yearling Sale this year.

Congratulations to one of the great participants of our industry.
