The young sire had a string of success on Saturday, headlined by Gratwick leading all the way in the $80,000 Handicap for three-year-olds at Moonee Valley.
It was Drill Master’s second win for his new trainer who admitted the only surprising part about the gelding’s success was his double figure odds starting price.
Chatswood Stud champion Reward For Effort has sired 28 individual winners this season and heads all Australian third-season stallions in that category from Rothesay (25) and Star Witness (23).
Following a $380,000 yearling in March, Reward For Effort’s momentum in the sale ring has continued, producing one of the standout lots of the NZ Bloodstock Ready To Run Sale.
Reward For Effort was the Champion Victorian First Season Sire in 2014-2015 and he continued that success in his second season winning the title.
