Chatswood Stud is devastated to inform our staff and clients of the passing away of our Stallion, Rakti.
Rakti has stood at Chatswood Stud since 2006, and has since served 425 mares, only missing one season due to Equine Influenza quarantine restrictions.
During the night Rakti sustained an injury in his stable, which caused his pelvis to shatter and pierce an artery. A Vet attended to him immediately.
Below is one of the last photos taken of Rakti, with his long-term Stallion handler Paul Croke from the Irish National Stud.

Chatswood Stud would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported Rakti throughout his stud and racing career.
Greg Willis:
“He had a very competitive nature on the track, but he is one of the quietest Stallions that we have had at Chatswood Stud. We’ve done our best to support him and he will be missed.
World Champion milers are hard to procure and we thank Rakti’s shareholders for allowing Chatswood to stand him. Rakti was buried on the farm, next to Geiger Counter and Prego.”
